I arrived in Delhi after an uneventful flight.... Which is GREAT! I don't want an eventful one! I actually did sleep pretty good on the plane, although I had a cough. But the airplane seats are perfect because they don't really go all the way flat so I just kept mine up and slept good. I did see a couple movies on the flight.
On the flight they serve dinner. The last time I stuck with traditional food. But this time I ventured out and had an India dish. And I did okay! It was "Mughali Jhinga". Here's the description on the inflight menu... Shrimp marinated in a clove almond sauce served with green chutney rice and paneer makhanwala. Now I know that paneer is a soft cheese, like our cottage cheese, only in cubes. But I don't know what makhanwala means. If anyone knows, please leave a comment!
Then for the snack I had "Chicken Tikka". Not sure what "tikka", but it had a great mango cucumber salad with it!!
Today, was church! There was a visiting Austrailan woman who preached today. Sometimes I have difficulty understanding the heavy austrailian accent, but the India people didn't seem to. Maybe because of the British accent they have. :) There were guest worship team also. The worship was incredible!
I found out the church had moved. In the 2 1/2 months since I've been gone, they outgrew their little space and had to look for a larger one. Towards the end of worship I turned around and it was full with a couple people standing. They would have had seats, but didn't want to come up to sit in the 2nd row.
And the children sang a song with their sign language interpretation. I tried to upload a picture. Will try again. They are so precious!
Well, need to try to catch up on my sleep. It is Sunday night just about midnight here. And tomorrow I am in the office. Will be working the 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM shift again.

So glad to hear you are safe and sound and as adventurous as ever. (Especially trying new foods with exotic and mysterious names.) How thrilling that the church is growing so rapidly! The Holy Spirit is truly irresistible. And Jesus said, "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me." Church growth is really simple when we follow the flawless truth of the Gospel. My love and prayers are with you, Brenda. (And for Jim here at home.)

ReplyDelete'Makhan' is a hindi word meaning 'butter'. Makhanwala means 'with butter' or 'cooked in butter'.
