Okay, so I was VERY nervous ALL Day! I don't do needles. Honestly, I was scared! Yep, just plain scared! To give you an idea... when my son "R" went to Africa when he was 15 on a missions trip I sent him in to get his vaccinations and stayed in the hall. I figured if he wanted to go, then he was mature enough to get his shots on his own. Mean Mom, huh!
Well, there are no "required" vaccinations for India. And the "recommended" list is long. But I had scheduled a consultation with this clinic that only does travel and went.
I decided to get plenty of protein before I went, so I stopped at Burger King and got one of their steak burgers, french fries and a diet coke. I eat that kind of stuff maybe twice a year.
- Burger for the protein
- Coke for the caffeine
- French Fries for the just plain ol' comfort food!
I get 4 shots and a capsule series:
Hep A ($79.00)
TDaP (Tetanus mixture - $58.00)
Flue shot ($20.00 What a bargain! Walgreens is $24.95!)
4 - Typhoid Capsules ($65.00)
Polio ($46.00)
I even got a plastic bracelet that says "Remember Oral Typhoid Vaccine" Because I have to take it perfectly, every two days for 4 times.
Then I got 3 prescriptions. They are at Walgreens waiting to be filled. More on that tomorrow when I pick them up.
And... the shots weren't so bad although I did convince him to let me lay down. The Flu shot had a little sting, and the Tetanus was the worse. The best thing is the Bugs Bunny Band aids!! Whooo Hoooo!
Let's see how much reaction I have tomorrow.
